Clients frequently want to learn more about the experiences of a specific patient profiles; often individuals with a specific condition who are receiving a specific treatment. Other challenges include low-incidence patient fieldwork, where the numbers of eligible patients is limited.

GKA overcomes these challenges with an innovative approach to patient market research that relies on strong relationships with both healthcare professionals and patient support groups.

Over the past 20 years we have established an extensive network of healthcare professionals as part of our Finder Network. Doctors and nurses play a vital role in helping to identify and recruit patients; our network includes over 20,000 healthcare professionals who have previously helped with research and many have’opted in’ to help with patient recruitment. With such a large network, the GKA team are able to identify the key treaters of the disease that they are interested in and recruit those physicians to help find willing patients. Without such a network, the challenge of finding HCPs involved in treatment of patients with low-incidence diseases, for example, can be insurmountable.

Local and national patient support groups are a vital source of patients for market research studies. GKA has a strong tradition of working with support groups in an open and transparent manner, building relationships over many years. Through direct donations, and by offering patient research participants the opportunity to donate part or all of their incentive, GKA supports their extremely valuable work.

You can find out more about this in our series of Therapy Area Guides which explore different topics, support groups and healthcare professionals that we have connections with. Download our guides here to discover more.
